Our booking calendar for custom designs usually fills up 3-6 months in advance. You can see the booking calendar on the website. With premade character covers, we can offer a quicker turnaround, usually within 2-4 weeks. 

Please start on the Custom Book Design. Scroll down the page and fill out the booking form. I will get back to you and send you a payment link for the 50% deposit. Once paid, you’re booked in. Please note, this process goes for both new and existing clients. I get a lot of inquiries and operate on a simple ‘first paid, first booked’ principle. Consider how well the books are selling. If you’re seeing a dip, and notice the cover trends changing in your Amazon category, it might be time for a refresh. There’s no exact time limit to when covers become ineffective, but it’s good to review your book cover every 5-6 years to assess if a change might help bring in new readers.

I’ve had clients who’ve used Facebook ads to test cover options. You can do this to decide between the old and new or two new cover options. As a cover designer, I’ll provide you with two cover files and you set up an ad to A/B test where everything else is identical, but the cover changes. If you’re targeting the right audience (who reads the kind of books you write), this will tell you, in very clear terms, which book cover will generate more interest. It’s best that you lead traffic to an existing book listing, either a preorder page or a published book. That way, you’re not only paying to collect data but might actually get some sales. You’re also not disappointing potential readers by leading them into a dead end.

Not sure whether to go premade or custom? Here’s the honest truth:

Premade covers are like speed dating, quick, affordable, and sometimes surprisingly effective if you find the right match. They’re ideal if you’re testing a new series, launching on a budget, or want something that looks professional right now.

But custom covers are more like a tailor-made suit — built for your book’s world, characters, and genre. If you’re investing in long-term branding, writing a series, or want something that readers instantly associate with your story, a custom design is worth it.

Our tip: If you spot a premade that fits your vibe — grab it. But if you’re building a series or want something unforgettable, go custom. And yes, we do both.
